Zackie Achmat, a South African health and political activist, receives the first Paul Farmer Award for Global Health Equity from McGill University. His lifelong dedication to fighting for justice and equality has improved the health of millions in South Africa.
On November 19th, 2023, friends, colleagues, and family of the late Dr. Paul Farmer, a pioneer in global health equity and social medicine, gathered at Harvard Medical School to reflect on his life’s work and lasting impact.
