Providing Prosthetics to Victims of War in Syria

Syria has been experiencing a devastating civil war since 2012. Even though hostilities have diminished from the worst of the fighting, there are still millions of displaced people and refugees, and a lack of medical services and most other elements of stable society.

The Independent Doctors Association (IDA) is a non-governmental organization that was founded in 2012 by a group of Syrian doctors from Aleppo, responding to the healthcare and humanitarian crisis in their home country. They operate more than 30 health and nutrition facilities, working primarily in northwest Syria and Turkey.
